Webcams are webcams, but Sheep-Cams are a whole new thing. Okay, maybe not whole new, but they’re not too shabby. This USB based web camera is shaped like a sheep plushy, but has a small camera lens where it’s belly button ought to be.

As far as video quality goes, there is much to be desired. But hey, I’m not complaining, I could have a sheep-cam! Practical uses are limited, but could include:

• A simple web cam
• A not so simple sheep plushy
• Put the two together and you can probably think of a 100 unethical uses…

Takeup was originally designed Henk Kowalski from Germany for a Greener Gadgets competition which has an ultimate prize of $5000 dollars. The theory behind the design is this: all the tons and tons of old computer hardware that is thrown out is becoming a burden on our mother earth. However, the Takeup uses a textile and environmentally friendly material for the majority of the case. The backbone of the case is made from an aluminum frame which by concept is adjustable.

The exterior cloth is swappable which means you can change the look of your case whenever you want! But as some are pointing out, the case isn’t all about the green effect. It provides much more than just an eco-friendly design. PC performance enthusiasts will be intrigued on our take of the Takeup case.

Today’s Around the World Gadget is from Japan. It’s called the Kinniku Mouse, cute huh? Well, not so cute when you see what this thing does! It apparently uses 4 little electrode pads to shock and stimulate your muscles as you work on the computer.

Translated to English, the name of the gadget is “Muscle Mouse.” It uses EMS technology (Electrical Muscle Stiumlation) to relax you for the long hard workday. From the translation it’s hard to see exactly how it’s powered, but it appears to either be from the movement of the mouse, or actually powered by the USB port. (Or a combination of both – the movement of the mouse activated the current which is powered by the USB port). The Japanese come up with some cool stuff!
