Webcams are webcams, but Sheep-Cams are a whole new thing. Okay, maybe not whole new, but they’re not too shabby. This USB based web camera is shaped like a sheep plushy, but has a small camera lens where it’s belly button ought to be.
As far as video quality goes, there is much to be desired. But hey, I’m not complaining, I could have a sheep-cam! Practical uses are limited, but could include:
- A simple web cam

- Put the two together and you can probably think of a 100 unethical uses…
Takeup was originally designed Henk Kowalski from Germany for a Greener Gadgets competition which has an ultimate prize of $5000 dollars. The theory behind the design is this: all the tons and tons of old computer hardware that is thrown out is becoming a burden on our mother earth. All LAN enthusiasts know that portability is key. If the best preforming rig is also one of the most portable rigs, it earns quite a bit of bragging rights. Besides, the most dreaded part of a LAN is when the sun comes up and it’s time to pack all your gear, weary and crashed after a night full of frags and Monster.
