People have spent years talking about portable projectors for their video games and cell phones. And until now, there has never actually been anything to back up the “prototypes” or ideas. Optoma has finally changed that by introducing their portable handheld projector called ‘Pico’ made for a wide range of mobile devices from iPhone, to many other smart phones and PDAs. They have a world wide release date set in 2009. Yeah, that’s right, a release date!
The device is based on DLP technology ensuring high picture quality and contrast, and uses LED lighting, guaranteeing a bright, colorful image. Plus, it’s tiny: small enough to fit in your pants pocket. The product will be first shown at Texas Instrument’s InfoComm 2008, close to it’s limited release in Europe, before it’s worldwide 2009 release.
